We call this an “absurd insanity”. Nikken finally commenced the demolition of the Grand Main Temple.
It had been a very beautiful site at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The elegant roof of the Grand Main Temple which soared like a crane has taken on a tragic appearance at the hands of Nikken. Now the cold wind blows between the steel-frames of the roof in a miserable state. Many may feel that the sound of the wind as sorrowful cries.
From what we heard, Nikken set up a camera nearby the construction site. He was pleased to view the demolition of the Grand Main Temple every day via a monitor from his inner sanctuary at the Head Temple. What an appalling sight.
According to the sources at the Temple, the cost of demolition was $48 million. This expense was paid from the contributions originally collected from the lay believers.
The Grand Main Temple is the greatest religious architecture of the century. The International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Association presented the Gold Medal award in 1974 to the construction companies of the Grand Main Temple.
A magnificent cultural asset of the world, the building was designed to last a thousand years.
Moreover, the building was made possible by the voluntary contribution of 8 million lay believers and was a crytallization of their pure faith. Everyone made the contribution with a sense of pride for the Grand Main Temple to be the “number one pantheon of the world”. However, the magnificent edifice was demolished in just 25 years from its completion date.
Throughout history, religious architectures have been destroyed by other religious organizations. However, no one has heard of a case in which a high priest of the religious sect destorys his own religious architecture with his own hands.
The Grand Main Temple was said to be the “High Sanctuary of True Buddhism” by the former high priest Nittatsu. How crazy can Nikken be? First, Nikken ignored the former high priest Nittatsu's directives. This proves that Nikken did not receive the lineage and heritage of the law afterall. Secondly, the demolition of the Grand MainTemple is an act trampling on the sincere hearts of the 8 million lay believers. Thirdly, the destruction of the flow of kosen-rufu is the gravest slander of all.
This horrendous tyranny is the symbol of damnation of the Nikken sect. He has made a fool of himself and is the laughing stock of the world. We may not be mistaken to say that the future generation will surmize that the downfall of the Nikken sect began when the destruction of the Grand Main Temple commenced.
